What are some things a beginner golfer should learn?
I mean a real beginner, I don’t even own a golf club or have any idea how to play. I’m 16 and it looks like a relaxing game to play.
How would I go about getting involved with it?
Just take a walk to your local club and ask at the pro-shop about work. I used to work in the local club’s kitchen as a 16 year old in holidays and at weekends, this allowed me to have use of the driving range/putting green at off peak hours and one round a week.
If you don’t want to work weekends etc, try saving some money and renting a club or two and hitting the ranges/greens and watch others. Watch online videos like expertvillage and practice. It’s a lot harder than it looks!
Oh and..
Always take a spare pair of ‘Plus Fours’ in case you get a Hole in One!
